Animal Cruelty Case
July 10, 2017

Animal Cruelty Case:

The Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office is seeking the public’s help in an animal cruelty case involving a horse. On Saturday night the Sheriff Office was dispatched to County Road 732 shortly after 10 PM. A person who lived in the area was driving by and observed a horse lying on the ground near the right of way of the county road.

It appears that someone dumped the horse near the county road and then tied its leg with a strap to a tree and left the animal there. We believe this happened between 7 PM and 10 PM on Saturday night. An animal veterinarian was called to the scene and the horse had to be euthanized due to the poor condition of the animal.

If you have any information on this crime, please contact the Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office at (936) 560-7794 or Crime Stoppers at (936) 560-4636.
